Koa’s Seaside Grill: Best Chocolate Cake on Maui

Koa’s Grill in Lahaina has the best chocolate cake on Maui. There, I said it. And I mean it. It’s moist, sweet (not too sweet), and chocolatey. The frosting melts slowly in your mouth. The whipped cream and fresh berries complement the cake perfectly.

For the past ten years, I’ve lived on Maui and have gone out to eat more than most. It’s what I like. It’s what I do. I’ve eaten some pretty great desserts over the years. The “Granny Smith” Apple Tart at Sansei’s, The Hula Pie at the Hula Grill, and the Caramel Miranda at Mala Ocean Tavern to name a few. For me, no other dessert can even compete with a really great piece of chocolate cake.

Koa’s Grill in Lahaina has an amazing chocolate cake. They serve it with berries and a dollop of whipped cream. You can get it with a scoop of ice cream if you want. I ordered mine without ice cream, but I can definitely see how it would be good. Especially when the evening is warm.

Koa’s also serves a number of adult coffee beverages that go great with the chocolate cake. I enjoyed the Buffalo Roam, coffee mixed with Buffalo Trace Bourbon and Disaronna Amaretto.
