Sugar Cane Maui: Short Rib Loco Moco

If you’re tired of traditional Loco Moco made with a ground beef patty, try the Short Rib Loco Moco from Sugar Cane Maui. It’s made with Asian BBQ braised short ribs, two Haleakala eggs, gravy, and coconut rice.

I tried it and was very pleased with the presentation, flavor, and price.

The short rib was delicious, tender, and plentiful. The eggs were perfectly over easy. I thought the gravy tasted great and the onion crisps on top added just the right amount of crunch.

I also really liked the coffee they serve at Sugar Cane Maui. It’s offered in either a small or large French Press and is accompanied with raw sugar cubes and rich creamy half and half.

Complimentary scones and butter are served with breakfast.
